WCL HALL OF FAME INDUCTEE - Lawrence Holmes

Congratulations to Lawrence Holmes on being inducted into the WCL Hall of Fame!

Lawrence Holmes is a two-time Olympian who represented Canada at the 1984 Los Angeles and 1988 Seoul Olympic Games. He also competed on the World Championship team three times (1982, 1985, and 1990) and represented Canada at the 1982 Commonwealth Games. Domestically, Holmes was a dominant force—earning the title of Canadian Champion five times (1982–1984, 1988, and 1990), and winning the CIAU national championship three times during his university career. In recognition of his accomplishments, McMaster University inducted him into its Sports Hall of Fame in 1996.

The induction for Lawrence Holmes will take place on June 27th at the 2025 Canadian U23 Wrestling Championships and Sr., Jr. Greco-Roman and World Team Trials (Non-Olympic Weights), at Canada Games Park in Thorold, Ontario.
